The first half of the 1980s witnessed a booming Gunpla phenomenon, where numerous modellers crafted Gunpla models using diverse design approaches aiming for a lifelike appearance.

During the release of the theatrical trilogy, Mr. Okawara's illustrations featured Mobile Suit colour schemes and markings with a military essence. Many modellers adopted techniques to translate these realistic Mobile Suits onto Gunpla, which subsequently became an established expressive style for the suits. In the wake of this, the 1/100 Real Type MS Series models were launched, and even today, many modellers continue to channel their creativity based on this "Real" concept.

This particular product incorporates understated primary colour configurations and a colour distribution, allowing the modellers who experimented with the "Real Type Colour" in the 1980s to continue freely showcasing their artistic flair.
